About us
Empowering Lives Through Compassionate Support
The JoyBearers Care Organization, a non-profit and non-governmental arm of the JoyBearers Christian Centre, is dedicated to providing direct support to widows and orphans. Our mission is deeply rooted in the divine vision received by our President, Pastor Ola Amuda, in the year 2000, inspired by James 1:27: “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
In pursuit of this mission, we launched the annual JoyBearers Conference in 2003, which has since become our flagship event. Over the years, this conference has grown to attract participants from up to twelve states across Nigeria. We are proud to offer this gathering completely free of charge, including transportation for widows from all corners of the country.
Our work is driven by a community of like-minded individuals who are committed to making this vision a reality. Through compassion and love, we remain steadfast in our mission to support and uplift widows and orphans, providing them with the care and attention they deserve.

Lives Empowered

States Reached
For over two decades, Joybearers Centre has been a beacon of hope and compassion in our community. Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission exactly 24 years ago, we established the JoyBearers Care Organization as the caring arm of our mission, dedicated to supporting widows and the fatherless in society.
From the very beginning, our work opened our eyes to the immense challenges faced by widows and the fatherless. Many of these individuals live without the basic necessities of life—struggling for food, shelter, and a sense of security. Our journey has been one of sacrifice and dedication, driven by a deep commitment to making a difference.
As our outreach grew, we recognized the need for a platform where these women could come together, share their experiences, and find strength in unity. In 2003, we launched the Annual Widows Conference, a gathering that has since become a vital part of our mission. Held every year during the first week of September, this conference brings together widows from across many states of Nigeria.
The Annual Widows Conference is a transformative experience, providing not only a space for shared stories but also amplifying the voices of widows within our society. We are proud to offer this conference completely free of charge, covering all costs related to feeding, accommodation, and transportation for participants. It is our belief that no widow should be left behind due to financial constraints.
At Joybearers Centre and JoyBearers Care Organization, we are committed to continuing this important work. We believe in the power of community, compassion, and collective action to bring hope and empowerment to those who need it most. Our journey has been one of profound impact, and we remain steadfast in our mission to support and uplift the widows and fatherless in our society

Providing support to widows, addressing physical, emotional and social needs, and equipping them to face life’s challenges with courage and dignity.
Empowering widows to reclaim purpose, joy, and resilience
At the time we began in 2003, we had a little over one hundred (100) widows who attended our programs. As at today, our organisation has made contact or impacted over one thousand, three hundred (1,300) widows. So many of such widows have overcome their emotional trauma while some of them have taken initiatives to start small businesses to cater for themselves and their children, some went back to school to further their education and a few of them have remarried. We hope to enlarge our horizon and bring in more widows to enjoy some of the operations of the organisation.
Our Programs

Our programs are open to all interested widows, no restrictions. Only that we do not have sufficient sources of finance to handle our responsibilities as an organisation towards the widows. Widows now see our organisation as a reference point for succour, as we provide monthly counselling sessions, an annual conference, where we expose them to training, skill acquisition, and we also distribute food items, clothing and provide transportation fare to and from the venue of the programs.

Monthly Meetings
We hold monthly meetings with widows where counselling and prayer session, mentorship and training; and provisions to meet their immediate needs are carried out.

Annual Conferences
The Organization holds annual conferences for widows in the first weekend of every September, each year.
